Nerves

Sew this enmeshed flesh with nerve endings,
cast under like a lifeline under a forest.
It renews itself, is as much itself
as a camera lens witnesses lines of change,
but coerces and captures light in a form
offering unlikely permanence.
That drawing parallel lines is impossible
it was like the word "hope";
carry a particular thread into the tapestry
and suddenly find you were losing it
in the largest part of the weave.
A thread is pulled from blackness and oblivion
 its invisible movement gives it colour and true position.
Since the hope comes from nowhere it is a hopeless hope.
